I am a new member almost blank with mechanical knowledge.
This morning, I took my 03 Taurus (SES) to Discount Tires for re-balancing my tires. It was at about 6pm that I realized the Check Engine light was on. (I did not use it until 6pm after I brought it home without noticing the Check Engine light.) I went to Autozone for diagnosis and the guy told me that the O2 sensor is not responding.
I asked him whether it is just a coincidence that it happened on the same day I had the tire re-balanced. He said it is possible that the mechanic at the Discount Tires hit the O2 sensor when he used the lift. He also told me that if I take a look at the bottom and point out the damage from the lift, I might be able to ask them to fix it or pay for it. But I only became to know, just now, what the O2 sensor look like from Google.
If it was hit by a lift, there must be some kind of ground wire. I will bring my car to the tire shop tomorrow to check the damage. Can someone help me where/what I should take a look?
