Default 1994 Cougar AC Problem

My Ac suddenly quit working. I believe it was at, or near the same time that my voltmeter quit working. The compressor is engaged, so it's not a freon problem. I replaced all of my HVAC switches, they seem to be working fine. I thought it might be electrical, being my voltmeter quit working about the same time. Now that cooler weather is here, I have found out I can only get hot air out of my HVAC. You can't turn the temperature down. My temperature blend door seems to be working fine, but I've been told, it could be broken internally. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
