Exclamation What transmission do i have?

I have a 1986 Ford Econoline 150 with a 4.9, and a 3 speed w/Overdrive. I need a speedometer gear the one that goes on the cable. Im having a problem finding what transmission i have. It looks like a top loader, but im pretty sure its not. The code on the door is is Trans type: B. If any one has info to help me i would appreciate it. thank you.

If it has a cover on the top it is a version of the old top loader trans. Probably has a tag on it someplace that says RUG. Check this site out.

just go to your ford dealer, they can get the gear in a day or two. They are about $5

sometimes it isn't worth the aggrevation shopping around.

Is either a RUG or an RTS. Both would use same gear.
