Post I need help

While driving my 1998 ranger 3.0 I suddenly lost the use of my throttle. It kicked back in for a minute or so then died. I started it back up, drove for about 100 ft and lost it again. Now the enging will fire up but only for about 2 seconds and then die with no responce to the throttle. I replaced the tps and it did not work. My friend suggested that i replace the iac but if it were an iac than the throttle would respond. Any ideas?

Did you check for fuel pressure at the fuel rail?

I'm not a professional mechanic, take my suggestions with a grain of salt, or a cup of coffee
