Default Focus problems

It all started 2 years ago. I was driving and hit a big pot hole. Bent the rim pretty bad. I was broke at the time and could not afford to repair of replace the rim. I parked the car for 4 months. I got the rim fixed and started driving it again.

Five miles down the road the oil light came on. I pulled over and checked the oil level. It was good. I restarted the car and the light was off for about 1/2 mile and back on. I shut it off again and opened the oil cap. There was oil up in the valves. I drove it home and replaced the oil sending unit. That was not the problem. I installed an oil pressure gauge. I started the car and had 65 lbs. of pressure cold. As the car warmed up the pressure dropped eventually going down to zero. I could shut the car off and start it right back up and the pressure would be 35 lbs. and start to drop. Restart and back up to 35 lbs. and drop. I was thinking it was the pressure bypass in the oil pump but I didn't have the money to repair it. I parked the car again.

2 weeks ago I went out to work on the car. I charged the battery and started the car. It ran for 30 secs. and died. Then all it would do is crank and not fire. I sprayed starter fluid in the intake and it would run and die. I checked the fuel shut off rely and the fuse. Both were good. This weekend I tried starting it to see if some elf’s fixed it during the week and it ran for 30 second and died. I drained the gas tank, put fresh gas in, and replaced the fuel filter. When I had the fuel filter off I reconnected the battery and cranked the engine to see if the fuel pump was working. No mess. The pump was not working. I went to pull out the fuel pump relay and noticed the fuse was now blown. I replaced the fuse and still no luck and the fuse is still good. So before I spend any more time and money on the car is there anyone out there with some wisdom they can share? It would be greatly appreciated.
I purchased the car with 35,000 miles on it. I have keeped up with oil changes and never had to add oil between changes.

Thanks

How much oil was up in the valves? Do a compression test.

If you have intermittant running problems or a flat spot/buck/dying/cutting out while accelerating.
Do your self a favor and try some dedicated gas
line dryer, Double or even triple dose it, It's cheaper
then throwing parts at a problem that doesn't throw
codes!!

Just by looking threw the oil fill there is a lot of oil when the engine is first started. The flow drop to nothing after 15 minutes of running. The compression is 105psi.

Pull the valve cover off and check the drain for the head it may just be blocked up and letting half or more of your oil stay up there and starving everything else. Let's hope nothing got too damaged. IS that you comp number with no oil in the cylinders? How about with a couple squirts of oil in each?

Compression test yes, Leak down test, even better.

Both are likely to tell you you need a complete engine rebuild.

I just finished replacing the fuel pump. It runs now. There are a few vacuum leaks I have to fix. I will pull the valve cover off and check drainage.
