Default 390 and FMX trans swap in to a 1963 Ford Galaxie box top

So,from what I heard there is a trans kick down for the FMX. Here's my inquiry,My Galaxie has had a 390 mated to an FMX transmission swapped in to it,but from what I can see, there needs to be some sort of trans kick down attached to the carb somehow. Does anyone have any pictures of what kickdown rod or cable, etc. I can use and what adapter they make so it works on an Edelbrock 750 carb?

Hi, cant see from pics but was that carb ordered for an automatic? not familiar with edelbrock, but with my holley, there is a free floating tang behind the throttle linkage. that would connect to a hollow alumnum rod that goes to the kickdown lever on the transmission.
Now i have seen other members use aftermarket kits, but ive never tried them.

that rod is a fairly common junkyard item. most v8 fords that do not have an aod trans will have it. they are bendable.
as far as the swap, I dont have much experience in that swap, but search the forum... there has been a lot on this subject

the tail shaft on the truck can be one of two issues,1-the tail shaft might be too short.2-you might have difficulty mounting it on your crossmember. Now if you are a good fabricator, you can customize a mounting surface(like kjucyj did) but I dont know how to start a welder.
