Default 81 Ltd

I have an 81 LTD that I need some help with. It has a little body damage and I have an estimate to have that done and a new paint job. My problem is that the window channel in the drivers door is brittle and falling apart. I don't dare to use the window for now. The body shop that gave me the estimate said that they don't do the window channels.

I called one of the national chain auto window service places and they said I'd have to go to the Ford dealer. If they do it I don't want be raped. I found that I can get the new channel from JC Whitney. How hard would it to do myself.

Has anyone on here done this, and how hard would it be. I would like to do all four windows, but need the drivers done now.

Thanks

hey from a bodymans standpoint its not that hard if u have a basic idea how things work.
u should have to take the door pads off and then loosen the window tracks pull the old ones out and u may have to use a little muscle and cunning but the new ones should slide right in.
