On some air bases the Air Force is on one side of the field & civilian aircraft use the other side of the field, with the control tower in the middle. One day the tower received a call from an aircraft asking, "What time is it?"
The tower responded, "Who is calling?"

The aircraft replied, "What difference does it make?"

The tower replied, "It makes a lot of difference... If you are a commercial flight, it is 3 o'clock . If you are an Air Force plane, it is 1500 hours. If you are a Navy aircraft, it is 6 bells. If you are in a Marine aircraft, the big hand is on the 12 and the little hand is on the 3. If you are an Army Air Corp aircraft, it's Wednesday afternoon and 120 minutes to "Happy Hour."

I am getting a small Vibration or grumble as it were felt through the steering and accelerator pedal between 2300 and 2600 rpm. It doesn't seem to matter what gear I'm in at the time or how fast I'm moving so I don't think it would be Tires or Tranny. Could it be my exhaust system?
I have a 98 XL 4.0 OHV AUTO4x4.

Has anyone had this issue and solved it; or any suggestions?:confused5:

Took the Monty in for an oil change today at the Ford Dealer and the tech says my battery failed the load test and he recommended a new one. I told him to go for it, especially since the weather here is nice in the 50s now, but the end of next week is supposed to get real cold. They charged me $112.45. Isn't that a bit on the high side for a battery or is that about right? I see ads from Sears and all those type places for like 49 bucks, but are those cheap batteries that aren't that good or because this is a big vehicle it's more?

I have a 94 Explorer with an auto transmission issue. Everything works correctly except switching from 1st to 2nd. No clunking or odd noises have ever been evident nor are there any fluid leaks. The only way to switch from 1st to 2nd is to accelerate the RPM's to around 2700-3k, take my foot completely off the gas for a brief moment and it will switch gears. Rapid acceleration from 30-35 will result in kick down to 1st. Once past 35, it will not kick back down to 1st. No other gear changes are effected. If I try running down the road at around 25 MPH or less, it will always kick back down to 1st when any acceleration is applied and the whole foot/accelerator problem has to be repeated. I have replaced the filter and fluid, and replaced the vacuum modulator. My next guess would be clutch bands, but not sure where the adjustment would be located. If anyone has any other ideas, I would be most interested in hearing them.

I everyone, just wanted to say that I am new here to this Forum. I am in the USMC Infantry for the past 14 years now. I am currently stationed at Quantico and will be here for the next 3 years. I have a couple of cars. My baby is my 84 Monte Carlo SC pro street car. I love this car to death and all G-Body cars. I also own an 07 Chevy Tahoe used to pull race car and boat. I have my daily beater a black 91 Ford Probe GL, and also have a 2000 Triton TR21 bass boat my second fav hobby. As you can see I am big into bass fishing and when not doing that I am racing as much as possible. I hope to get to know you all and see ya around the board.

Hi guys
Two days ago the van wouldn't start. No check engine light. I did some tests and found that i had no spark and when i checked the coil with an ohm meter it was out of spec. I also checked the crank position sensor and there was nothing on the A/C scale while cranking it over.
I changed both components and it now starts and runs, however, when it is hot it is very hard to start and i get lots of black smoke ou exhaust and i have to floor the gas pedal for it to start. also if i disconnect some of the sensors, like Mas, intake heat, oxygen, i still do not get a check engine light.
