My 1995 F150 ExtCab XLT, 5.0L/302 V8, MT is running rough, really rough. My mechanic put a vaccum gauge onto it and the needle was all over the place. He then checked the compression and got 70psi on cyclinder #1 and 0psi on cyclinder #2. He says it could be a broken rocker, broken compression ring, or ??? Before I pull the top end (and I know I have to), I'd like to hear any input and/or similar expierences that other members have had. The Engine is a replacement long block with about 40k on the clock.
Also, any tips, tricks or precautions re: taking the top end apart would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 2003 F-250 Lariat, crew cab with 4 wheel drive, 7.3 powerstroke and 109K miles. About 2 weeks back I noticed the overhead console had no lights, that same day both heated seats quit working. The next day I had no back-up lights then no turn signals ( no arrows on instrument cluster) but the emergency flashers work, next (same day) the heater selector quit (only blows air from the defrost openings. I have checked all fuses I can find and swapped relays around as well as un-plugging and re-plugging the wire connectors under the truck. I un-plugged one of the seat heater modules and checked for power with a voltmeter and found 12 volt on one pin. It seems unreasonable to think that all of these things would go bad in a 2 day period??? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks f-250 bill

Does anyone know of a replacement pannel without the holes for the grab bar? It doesnt look all that good with the two giant fender washers I have holding it on now.....also, do all the new 350 4x4's steer as hard as an old International cab over with no power steering? It is TIGHT!

Well, I've done it now...I picked up another F-150 on Friday. What is this one? Well, it's a '95 regular cab, long bed. It has the 300 straight six (4.9L) motor, tied with the 5spd transmission. It is in great shape overall, except a little bit of front end damage. Once I replace the front turn signal, it won't really be noticeable, just a few small scratches, which hopefully will buff out. It's only got 94k miles, and runs strong. It also has the hard top cover, which although will be annoying at times, I like, because I can lock stuff in the bed, as well as keeping stuff clean and dry (that is the main thing I don't like about pickups, is that there isn't much "dry" storage space. Well, now I have plenty of that! It also has nice aluminum wheels, with 31" BFG tires. Here it is.. (not the best picture, taken from cell phone while parked up against my house, so I can't really back away from it..)

I liked the '87 so much, I decided to get another:D I just wanted one that was a little nicer..which I now have.

The damages to my wallet for the truck - $1000. Which, if I do say so myself, is pretty good.

The one major thing I didn't realize at the time I got it..which does bother me...is that it doesn't have cruise control. I'm going to have to figure out if there is some way I can rig it up, otherwise, I guess I will just have to live with it.

2002 F150 XLT FX4 with 4.6L

4-wheel disc brakes. All new pads and rotors. Brand new master cylinder. I see no bad lines or hoses. I see no leaks and the fluid in the master cylinder is full. Then I bled the entire system.

But after all this, I am still having a problem. After the vehicle warms up, and driven for around 5 miles without applying the brake, when I finally hit the brake pedal, I will get excessive brake pedal travel.

They'll pump up just fine. And if I drive a short distance, the brake pedal is fine on the next application. Go a longer distance and I get what I described above.

Is this a brake booster problem? Is this an ABS problem? Something else?

Hello all, a good friend of mine recently bought an '89 F250 ,5.0L, auto trans for a work truck. He dismantles old mobile homes and sorts/recycles the metals. This ole beast works quite well for this type of work although it can be sort of gutless at times. I am kinda in search of some engine compartment pictures to see where some disconnected components are suppose to have been. This engine is fuel injected. It has, I am asuming, TBI of that vintage, with two like 2 or 3 inch hoses going from the TBI to the air cleaner. There is, what I am assuming to be a vapor recovery canister (rectangle shapped) on the passenger side of the radiator bracket like half way down, with one of the hose nipples broke off. There is also, on the pass. side fender well, what looks like a large fuel filter with like a 3/4" hose going into it but, nothing on the other side. I am assuming, this was once part of the Emissions setup.
The issues he is experiencing are this, ... when starting cold, it seems to idle quiet high and still seems high when warmed up and kinda lopes in park/neutral. it smooths out when put in drive/reverse but still seems idle speed is high. Shifting is goofy like a bad modulator but, I do not see one, nor do I see any vacuum going to the trans. :confused5:
Other than the 12-14 mph, it always starts and does the job required of it but, I know it can run better and get somewhat better mileage. If need be, I can post some pics of the engine compatrment for referance.

I have converted a 1980 F150 over to a F250 underneath (year unknown) and am wondering how and what ill need to go from single to dual tanks. I had purchased an universal wiring harness and it did not have the connector for the dash fuel selector. I have the dash selector and frame tank split. I am new to this and have no idea what I am doing to be honest. The other shop that was working on this is clueless as to how to get this to work. What will I need to go to dual tanks and how would I be able do this? You can personal message me if an answer is available. Thanks!
