How often should I service my transmission and when servicing it what should be done? Also I change my air filter about every 12000 miles, change my oil 3000-5000 and rotate my tires every 5000 mile. I do major appliance repair and heating and air. I average about 200 mile a day. What general maintenance do I need to do to keep my van working?

When I bought my used 1999 van there was some rust damage that needed repaired. Most all of each was either on the bottom of the doors or bottom edge of the van. I used a grinder with a wire wheel when removing the rust but I also had to take off some of that protective coating that's applied to the bottom 14 inches (approx) of the van.

What to I use to replace that with? Is it the same stuff as bedliner?
Thanks

Can someone tell me where the Airbag Control Module is located on a 99 e350. Had a little accident where my airbags deployed and got the airbags from a salvage yard, but forgot about the control module and have no idea where it''s at.

Is there anything else I am going to need to replace? And do i have to have the code reset by a garage?
Thanks in advance

Greetings...

Joegio recomended this site to me as I am doing something similar as him by turning an extended econoline van into a motovan (dirt bike hauler) and light duty campmobile...

Mine started as a 15 passenger van with rear AC...no more rear seats, and i really have no need for the rear AC...i've removed all the panels, the ducting and the fan...all that is left is the heater cooler (? - don't know what it's called, but it's like an oil cooler, but the heater hoses are connected to it), and the same thing for the AC...the lines exit the floor behind the rear wheel. i want to remove those, but don't know how to deal with the lines?

for the heater lines, i guess i could just cut the hoses under the floor and route one to the other as sort of a u-turn...does anybody have any ideas?

for the AC, i'm more perplexed. i don't just want to cut the lines, for fear of loosing the freon(?) charge for the front AC (which works and blows cold).
any body have any ideas?

if i could do a complete removal of all the lines, that would be great, but if i could just get that cooler out of the inside, that all i really need...

But first I want to educate myself on the history of the truck, see if there are any distinct differences between the years, and go from there. If anybody knows a website or book suggestions to get me going, it would be greatly appreciated. Just send me a PM or reply. Thanks.

My '95 E-350 has the 1-piece composite headlights and they're very cloudy (Brasso helps a little). Would it be possible to change from the composite lights to the sealed beam type headlights? If so, would I just need the headlight assemblies and covers or is the wiring different? I like the idea of the sealed beams better as they have glass lenses and I could get e-code Hella lights with a better beam pattern.

1996 E250 Base model Panel, 5.8L, E4OD

Hello, All... This is my first post with a question... I found where to plug in my trailer brake unit under the dash. Now I am trying to find the trailer wiring going to the rear end. The power distribution box has all the fuses for this application, but I can't find where I need to tie in the wiring to the rear. I read on another post somewhere that the wiring should be above the rear axle on the drivers side, but all I can find is the wiring harness to the fuel tank. Does the wiring have to be hooked up at the power distribution box or what? Or does the van even have wiring for the trailer? :) Thanks for any insight...

Anyone know of a source to get a billet grille set for the 2009 Econoline?

I have looked around quite a bit, and can only find one company selling them, but they are only selling the upper grille parts, and not the bumper grille.

I am looking for someone who sells all seven pieces as a set. The main reason I'm looking, is to cover the hole in the bumper a bit to protect the condenser behind it from road debris.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Yes, another ABS light question. I have a 2003 E350 Super Duty extended. ABS started engaging too often (like during normal stopping) then ABS light came on, stayed on. I replaced the ABS sensor on the pumpkin, problem solved for $14 (thanks Rock Auto!). ABS light needs to be reset / shut off. I've read that disconnecting the battery (in my case two of them) will reset the ABS light, I've also read it won't. Does anyone know how to shut the thing off?
Thanks!
