I have a 2005 Escape and almost daily the alarm turns itself on, or the hazards turn themselves on. I have replaced the battery in my key fob and it's not accidentally being "hit" while in my purse or pocket. The hazards can only be turned on from inside the car and when I've gone out to my car during work hours, they are flashing.

Any thoughts? If it's a fuse that can easily be replaced I can probably do it myself; just don't want to pay an arm and a leg at the dealership.

This van has been a nightmare from the day I bought it. The latest problem is that I just completed a front brake job (pads and turned rotors) and the odometer just has dashes across it, no cruise control and the message center shows error. I read that the brake switch could be bad on the bottom of the master cylinder so I replaced it with the upgrade kit...didn't fix it. I also checked all fuses and they are good. I had problems getting the rotors off due to rust build up and had to smack them pretty good with a deadblow hammer...could that have hurt something??? I have looked at all connections around and under the master cylinder and nothing was wet with brake fluid. I also took it to a car wash and soaked down the motor while it was running to see it that would help... it didn't. Any help is greatly appreciated!!!! Mike

Both of my windows on my 2004 Freestar Limited no longer function properly. They now have to be pushed down ( with assistance from the door switch) to open them. They go back up without a struggle. After searching online I believe that I need to replace the motors. How easy is this to do? And how do I do it? I have the tools and some of the talent ( as long as I have a lot of time)to do it myself.
Thanks in advance.

My 94 V6 cougar seems to have a gremlin living inside of it.
My AC had always blown ice cold. Then one day it suddenly stopped working. I only get hot air coming out of the HVAC vents, it has the manual HVAC set up. The compressor clutch is engaged, and the lines going into the evaporator are cold. At the same time the voltmeter went all the way to discharge, but the charging system works just fine. The alternator was checked both on, and off the car, and the bright light indicator light comes on anytime the lights are on. On bright, or dim. I replaced all three HVAC switches with used ones. No change. I bought a new dimmer switch, no change. I replaced the instrument cluster with a used one, no change.
HELP!!!

AT WITS END
Having a problem with 94 Probe GT
won't turn over
before it totally died I was having intermittent starting trouble, I would turn the key to start and nothing
thought it might be neutral safety switch A/T or ignition switch both ok
went to advanced auto had them put it on their analyzer and everything checked out ok except for the amps on the alt. they were jumping from 5 to 20 they said its probably a bad connection
so i removed the alt, batteryand starter and had them tested seperatly all ok
went through the engine compartment and cleaned all ground connections
have power to starter solinoid, but not enough to engage starter
how could you have a power drain of this magnatude and not blow a fuse?
while it was still running i was checking the transmission fluid and the dipstick sparked, with key in on position the cooling fans come on intermittently even though the engine is cold something is telling the fans to come on could it be cpu pcm or tcm? traced a short to engine fuse still tracing would appreciate any feedback

I have a 2005 Escape in which the battery goes dead every one to two weeks. It's been to the dealer twice. The first time they said they could find nothing wrong, the second time they replaced the battery. Now, two weeks later, the battery is dead again. I'm pretty sure that the problem lies with the voltage regulator. The voltage across the battery measures about 13 volts with the engine running and falls to 12.6 as the headlights and blower are turned on. Shouldn't it be more like 14-14.5 volts? The only problem is that the alternator light never comes on and there are no codes. I would expect to at least see an alternator light if the output was low. My wife has been stranded four times in this vehicle with this issue and it would be long gone by now if it wasn't a lease.

This is in regards to changing from a standard gauge cluster to a sport cluster. Can this be done without changing out the complete wiring loom ? I believe they're not plug and play as well. I changed out my headlights to 9007 bulbs by switching the two wires by my own trial & error and it worked. Can the cluster be done somehow ? The sport clusters are widely available at the pull-it-yourself yards around here for $35. I seems like it would be a tuff job to change the hole loom & I don't think I'd want to tackle that as well. Thanks for any help. Welcome all new members as well too. Regards, L.D.S.
