Five Hundred Ford Five Hundred looks like just another conservatively styled family sedan. But peel away the Passat-like sheet metal and you will find a well engineered, highly competent chassis, much of it lifted from the Ford-owned Volvo S80. The Five Hundred sedan will be sharing this new Volvo-derived platform with the Ford Freestyle untapped markets.

Default will not gain momentum immediately when i accelarate??

hello everyone, we've owned a 06' ford 500 for two years now, the car is great, the ONLY problem that i have noticed since i got it was that on some occasions, when I'm at a stand still then accelerate, the car barely moves, even if i pump on the gas pedal, it usually takes 2-3 seconds for the car to react. may be because of the usage of the A/C when this happens, but regardless, this should not happen. those 2-3 seconds of lag time could turn to disaster in an emergency situation. just like last week it scared the crap out of my wife and my kids because she was at a stop, waiting to cross a major intersection, just when she was cleared to go, she pressed on the gas and the damm thing would not accelerate, and at the same time some a$$hole not paying attention pulled fast out of another building before her , as he got to about 20 feet of her the car finally caught on, so she was able to dodge the other car. I've talked to the dealer about this before and they told me it happens because of the a/c being on, but i think its b.s. but after this incident they damm well do something about it. has this happened to anyone before?

Your car has drive bye wire (DBW) and can be fixed .Go to the dealer and have them ajust the DBW in the computer. This problem should be a major recall item for all DBW Fords.
