Ford 500 rear emergency brake removal

Hi all I am a newbe in texas trying to replace my rear disk brakes. I have new rotors and calipers and I have one question. How do you remove the emegency brake from the caliper? It would appear you need a spring compression tool.

Ok, thanks for all the folks who read this. I kind of think they may have the same problem. Anyway I managed to remove the emergency brake cable by compressing the spring with a short screwdriver by pushing it into the spring and forcing it back past the retainer which allowed me to compress the two tangs on the retainer and remove the cable. Use the same process to reinstall the cable. Hope this helps someone.
