Five Hundred Ford Five Hundred looks like just another conservatively styled family sedan. But peel away the Passat-like sheet metal and you will find a well engineered, highly competent chassis, much of it lifted from the Ford-owned Volvo S80. The Five Hundred sedan will be sharing this new Volvo-derived platform with the Ford Freestyle untapped markets.

Question Cruise control issue

Just got 06 500, beautiful car, but having a problem with the cruise control. Driving along around 60 mph @ 1800 rpms, when the engine revs to around 4000 rpms for no reason, and speed stays at 60, if I stab the gas a couple of times the rpms go back yo 1800. Please, any ideas.

The switch is located on the brake master cylinder and the switch or wiring goes bad and that could be the problem, take ur car to a Ford dealer, and if its a recall they will fix it and if not you will need part # 7F2Z-9F924-A but am no mecanic so have it check out lol.
