Ford AerostarOriginally conceived as an answer to the first Chrysler minivans, the Aerostar is an old school rear-drive van that's at its best when it's harnessed for hard work. It can haul--and tow--heavier loads than the front-drive crowd, and gets the job done with a fair degree of comfort and style.
Ok Ive searched maybe my search parameters were not good enough but heres the deal. My factory equalizer shorted out dont ask lol but anyways the factory radio will not work now. Will the radio not work w/o it or did it short out something in the radio too. I dont know if there is a factory amp in this thing or not but if someone could tell me how to find out I will look. Im so confused as to why if the equalizer doesnt work that the radio doesnt. To clarify the radio does turn on and will "function" as in it will tune to stations via manual search or seek button but will not broadcast through the speakers. Any help will be good. Do I need to just get a replacement factory equalizer, do I need to replace the head unit period if it has an amp is that the prob. If I need to define anything further to help in this process just ask and I will answer. Thank you
My memory ( I used to own an '88 aerostar - sold in '96) is that the radio feeds to the equalizer which acts as an amp and the speakers are tied to the equalizer. If something blew in the equalizer you would get no audio, but the radio functions would work.
Ah ok that makes perfect sense actually cause the radio still turns on the buttons all work just no audio ok so now to find a replacement equalizer this should be fun lol. Thank you it makes more sense now that someone else besides me in my head said it cause I refused to believe it haha thanks alot..so I'm thinking any aftermarket equalizer that would plug into it via harness would work?
