Ford Aerostar Originally conceived as an answer to the first Chrysler minivans, the Aerostar is an old school rear-drive van that's at its best when it's harnessed for hard work. It can haul--and tow--heavier loads than the front-drive crowd, and gets the job done with a fair degree of comfort and style.

Cool Connect Trailer Wiring to 93 Aerostar

Working on a 1993 Aerostar XLT AWD extended van. I am trying to save some aggravation here as I am partially disabled and don't have the patience I once had... so please bear with me! I have a Reese trailer connection kit, 4-wire plug, and I am trying to determine the best place to connect into the van's wiring. It would appear that the wiring comes from above down to the tail lights but I can't be sure. This "kit" came color-coded with lots of wire length, but can anyone just answer me this? Do I need to take the wiring all the way into the tail light locations OR is the a better and easier location to tap into the existing wiring?
Your help would be MUCH appreciated, Thank You!

The electrical manual says that there is a prewired trailer/camper module that comes with that van. The module is located somewhere above the rear left wheel well, and the conections ( C407/C408) come out somewhere in front/center of the rear bumper. (see harness routing and component diagram bellow). If that does't work out, I've included some electrical diagrams of the stop/turn, marker and backup lamps, to help you with the wire identification.
