Ford AerostarOriginally conceived as an answer to the first Chrysler minivans, the Aerostar is an old school rear-drive van that's at its best when it's harnessed for hard work. It can haul--and tow--heavier loads than the front-drive crowd, and gets the job done with a fair degree of comfort and style.
Hi guys hope you can help me here. My heater fan is doing wierd things. Sometimes it will not come on for about 15 minutes after I turn it on then will run OK all day untill I shut off the motor, Then if I go to start it soon after it will fail to come on again for a while. It always ends up working but its a hassle when you need defrosting the window. Also I need to change the thermostate. The engine always runs cool and takes forever to warm up. Would these problems be conected? Ive played around with the heater switches that does nothing, Thanks for any info.
The thermostat is about $9. It could be stuck open. That would mean the engine runs to cool to generate much heat. Go ahead and change the thing. It sounds like your blower motor is going. When it's not working, pop the hood and tap on the back of the housing with something. Sometimes this will make it kick on. Ultimately you'll have to change this unit as well but it is not an expensive or complicated repair.
