Ford Aerostar Originally conceived as an answer to the first Chrysler minivans, the Aerostar is an old school rear-drive van that's at its best when it's harnessed for hard work. It can haul--and tow--heavier loads than the front-drive crowd, and gets the job done with a fair degree of comfort and style.

Default Flooding problem 3.0

I have a 1992 van with the 3.0 engine and have a problem with gas in the oil. When I turn the key on to start the engine the fuel pump comes on and pumps up the 42 psi and keeps on running and at this time it is all going into the crank case, it is like something is telling the ejector to flood the engine. With the key on in less than 2 minutes it will put around a quart of gas in the oil. The engine will start if you let it set over night but you have to keep feathering the gas pedal and if you let off it will die. I try to check the codes for the engine light stays on all the time but the light on the code reader stays on all the time.

I found no answer from anyone on my problem with this van so I decided to put a new computer on for I could not read the codes and this fixed my problem. As soon as I installed the new one and turned the key on the fuel pump stoped in less than 2 seconds so I tryed to start and the van started right up. Make sure if you have this problem not to run it until you change the oil for it gets really thin with a gas in it. Randy
