Ford Aerostar Originally conceived as an answer to the first Chrysler minivans, the Aerostar is an old school rear-drive van that's at its best when it's harnessed for hard work. It can haul--and tow--heavier loads than the front-drive crowd, and gets the job done with a fair degree of comfort and style.

Question Leaking Side Windows

Does anyone know of a "recommended" sealant to use between the body and the window flanges? Has anyone dealt with this problem?

No, but I have the same problem. I'll be asking my buddy, who is a super mechanic/car builder sometime this weekend.

I have leakage in front, mainly, where my windshield when wet outside, is sopping wet inside. Its a pain getting visibility in inclement weather. The fan motor doesn't clear the windshield very quick at all.

I noticed a little leakage in back too, with visible water on my cargo container's lid. Not much, but. ...

I'll be back in touch.

I asked my buddy, and he tells me the front windshields are glued in. He's unsure about the sides. Rears probably the same as front, using glue then a rubber gasket.

My sides aren't as bad as the front window, which basically gets wet inside with any wet weather. We froze last week and I had to use the ice scraper on the inside of my windshield.

I'll be checking with auto body shop soon. I need to remedy this problem.
