Dead Ford Aspire

My friend has a ford aspire 1995 that he wants to sell to me for $500.00

its in awesome condition. New alternator, battery, tires, brakes, etc.

Anyways about 6 months ago his wife was driving it home when the engine died out on it, just shut down and that was it, will not even turn over nothing. Lights come on thats it.

I never owned a ford so i do not know the setup on these cars, any suggestions on what could have caused it?

If you are looking for a project car to fix up give him $100.00 for it, parts are expensive.
