Ford Aspire Measured against other cars in this class, it's reasonably roomy and does have its appeal. It's well-suited for use as a second or third family car, with safety features that take some of the worry out of handing it over to younger drivers. And it's an excellent commuter vehicle - comfortable, durable and cheap to operate.

I had a similar problem with my 97 Aspire. It ran, but barely...misfired all the time. I was told by mechanic after mechanic that it was everyting but the distributor, but no one person could tell me what it really was. I bought a used distributor on ebay, spent 20 minutes installing it, and all the misfiring went away...problem solved.

Now I have another problem. One of the crankcase vent lines came loose this afternoon and blew all the oil out all over the engine. By the time I noticed the smoke cloud in the rearview mirror, the engine was history. Anyone have any ideas about an engine swap? What works, how difficult is it to swap, and what about hooking up the various sensors, etc.? Any help/adivce is appreciated.

Try Ebay for parts at reasonable prices. I needed a IAC valve for my Aspire. They run between $300.00 and $400.00 new. I found one rebuilt for $10.00 + 40.00 shipping and it works fine.
