Ford Bronco Until the mid '90s, the Ford Bronco was famous for being a rough-and-tumble off-road vehicle that had been tackling trails and fording streams since the 1960s. It was also one of the first sport-utility vehicles: a versatile truck then described by Ford as being able to serve as a family sedan, sports roadster, snowplow or farm and civil defense vehicle.

Default 1st Gen Bronco (1966-1977)... things to check.

Dear Forum:

I wanted to thank everyone for their help in pointing me to the right direction in getting my kid's Escort fixed.

I see these 1st Gen Bronco's and was looking to get one to put a Cummins diesel in it. Other Ford trucks came (Bread trucks and stepvans) with Cummins diesels.

Anyway, what do I need to check in terms of body and frame. Also, are there any really serious quirks with the Bronco?

I thank you all for your help.

Scott
