Ford Bronco Until the mid '90s, the Ford Bronco was famous for being a rough-and-tumble off-road vehicle that had been tackling trails and fording streams since the 1960s. It was also one of the first sport-utility vehicles: a versatile truck then described by Ford as being able to serve as a family sedan, sports roadster, snowplow or farm and civil defense vehicle.

A Duraspark II is a Duraspark II. It does not matter what vehicle or engine size.

I can't comment on the different wire colors. I guess the wiring harness colors may vary between FSB and B2, and maybe you have a Duraspark and not a Duraspark II.

okay well ive looked at this diagram youve supplied and the red/light green wire comming from the ignition switch that goes to the coil... i have it directly routed to the coil.. and on the diagram it comes off the switch and goes to the coil as well as another place on the switch with a resistor wire inbetween, and also off the page to the right.... i guess what im trying to say is im not the BEST at reading wire diagrams and would you by chance KNOW the route it takes from the switch to the coil and everything in between?
i understand thats asking alot. but i really dont know what else to do..

Sorry, but I don't know.
Seabronc, the guy who supplied that diagram may be able to help as he (I believe) has that set up in his FSB.

From what I can see on that diagram a R/LG wire comes off the "START" contact of the ignition switch, and straight to the coil. Another R/LG wire comes off the "RUN" contact of the ign. sw. through a (1.1 Ohm resistance wire) and connects to the R/LG wire that comes off the "START" contact.
That means that when you are starting the vehicle you are getting full 12+ volts to the coil, but once the vehicle is running you are dropping some voltage across that resistor, and the coil is not getting the full voltage.
The guys above are right, your coil is probably heating up because you are running full power to it all the time. When the engine is running your coil should be getting the voltage through a resistor.
Regarding the wire that goes off to the right, off the page, it takes power to some component that needs power from the 'START" contact, but I think the ignition is pretty much covered on that page.
