Ford Bronco Until the mid '90s, the Ford Bronco was famous for being a rough-and-tumble off-road vehicle that had been tackling trails and fording streams since the 1960s. It was also one of the first sport-utility vehicles: a versatile truck then described by Ford as being able to serve as a family sedan, sports roadster, snowplow or farm and civil defense vehicle.

Unhappy 1987 Bronco waterpump WOES !!!!!!!

1987 Ford Bronco V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I am trying to locate a water pump pulley, the vehicle is a full size bronco XLT and the engine is a fuel injected 5.0 cid. according to specs under hood and firing order. However when purchasing pulley from same vehicle at wrecking yards" more than one" the pulley I keep receiving has a larger bolt pattern, than my existing water pump and fan clutch, but both have correct outer size and depth. The existing water pump bolt pattern has 1 & 3/4" across bolt holes center to center. The pulley I keep receiving is 2 & 1/16" center to center on bolt holes. it is a serpentine belt system, The parts store has a water pump this size for same year app. only for a 351 cid. but it shows to use V groove type belts and pulleys. Does anyone have any Ideas on what to do?,Did ford put on 2 diff., pulley's or waterpumps or what ? PLEASE HELP !!!!!!!

Is it possible that a different engine was swapped in the Bronco before you got it?

PS. Just a little update,I found out why the Bronco pulley's would not fit. The motor is out of a lincoln or fullsize ford, had to replace the waterpump and had a heck of a time finding the correct pump, finally the parts man at Car Quest took the ford part number from original waterpump and crossed it over and found it is from full size ford or lincoln.
