idling problems

help!! I have been trying to get my 88 bronco 2 running after sitting for a few months. have changed the gas tank, the gas filter, sparks an plugs.new air filter. after changing the plugs an wires it cranked up an ran for about 5 mins then died. cranked back up but then was spitting an sputtering then died , this continued. i had some one crank it, an when you try to give it gas ,if it stays running you can hear a loud suction noise comming from the air filter, then it will die...tried it with the air fliter off didnt make no difference... any one got any ideas.. it was running when i parked it!

Sounds like you have a serious vacuum leak somewhere. Carefully check all your vacuum hoses and connections for leaks and disconnects. There should be a diagram on the front of the vehicle in front of the radiator under the hood showing all your vacuum lines.
