| 1995 E-150 stuck in park...help? The van starts fine, depress the brake and the lever is stuck in park. Is there a mechanical linkage from the brake pedal to the shift lever? Thank you for any help you can provide me.

| HI,
I'm new to the board, but have had that exact problem.
Sounds wierd, but look for a blown fuse. I've had it happen with two different fuses:
the one for the brake lights and the one for the electric locks.
Incidentally, I think I still have a short which causes different problens including the shift problem every once in a while. I'm now searching the steering column and behind the dash.
Hope that helps a bit.

| Greetings, first thing I would check is the fuse. I recently had the same problem with my Ford and found the Brake on/off switch was bad ( BOO Switch ) Very simple fix. Located on the linkage on the upper side of the brake peddle. $9.00 part. Simply change. |
