Ran Fine Last Night, Wont Start This Morning I have a 1989 E-150 Van Club Wagon XLT. Its got the 302 in it with the ambulance package.
I just drove back home about 300 miles last night and everything was fine. Parked it, went to sleep, got up today, went out to start it just a few minutes ago, turns over fine but doesn't start - doesn't even try. Its getting fuel but no fire. I have checked all the fuses inside and out, no problems there. Starter is working as is the battery, so thats not the issue. When I turn the key from Off to Run, I do hear a relay click.
I bought this van a couple of weeks ago, its run really well and has started very easily every time for me until now. The only thing different about today is it has rained all day. I talked to the previous owner, he said there has never been any starting problems, wet or not.
Before I tear the coil out and have it tested, any ideas on what else I should check? I know on my Chevy van the ICM went out but it always started and ran, it would just die after it warmed up and then would not restart. But it always started when cold. Should I bother tearing out the ICM and having it tested?
Does this van have a low oil cutoff switch? I am about a quart low, I just noticed that today but I am going to change it tomorrow anyway, so I plan to wait to take care of that.
Thanks in advance. |
