Ford Comet From 1960 through 1967 Mercury, a division of the Ford Motor Company, produced the Comet. The Comet was initially built atop a Ford Falcon frame that was stretched and became Mercury's intermediate/compact entry vehicle. With a 114 inch wheelbase many thought it would be considered an intermediate, but Mercury classified it as a compact.

Default Need Comet clutch parts

I need the two clutch rods for a 63 Comet (or equivilent), the one between the clutch pedal and Z bar and the one between the Z bar and throw out bearing fork. My car came originally with a V8 and 4 speed and I want to restore the 4 speed in it. I also need the pivot ball's for both ends of the Z bar. Thanks, Dan

Cool, let me know when and if you decide to do this. I found everything but the rod that goes between the clutch pedal and equalizer (Z bar), but I still may take the rest of the manual clutch control stuff off of your hands including the tranny mount. As a matter of fact, if you do go with an automatic I have a custom made tranny mount that was used with the AOD that came in my car. You may be able to use it in your tranny swap and I could swap you for the manual tranny mount stuff you have.

I even have the AOD tranny sitting in my garage if you need one, complete with torque converter, flex plate, engine plate, tranny yolk, and basically everything you need to convert yours to an automatic. This tranny isn't a c4, but it is an overdrive trans non electronic that came off of a 302 HO motor. - Dan
