smoking BAD

My 98 contour was running a little low on oil the other day so I put a quart and a half in it to bring it up to the full mark. the next time I took it for a ride it smoked REALLY REALLY bad, and was missing and bucking. I took it back home and drained the quart and a half back out of it and that cleared up the smoking and bucking and missing. I'm think maybe a oil return is clogged up or something keeping too much oil on the top end of the motor forcing it into the cylinders and fouling my plugs. Is this a common problem with these cars and is there an easy fix??

I think You just put a little to much oil in the engine.
Here's a little advice never fill the the engine up with oil to the full mark.
the v6 engine is excellent on oil consumption I check my oil every other week
with my car. I usually fill it up with oil just a notch below the full mark.
