 98 CONTOUR V6 acts like it shifts to long runners when in 3rd & 4th gear
its starting to get on my nerves, i have a 98 contour SE with the v6... for some reason while going along in third, mostly when its floored but not always, it acts like a speed limiter kicks in. its happened at 55, 65, and even 70 at some times. i dont know if its clicking into long runners on the intake manifold, when it should stay in short runners.. if i shift its fine, but if i downs hift back to third it does it again. it needs to stop before i take a sledge to it... whats causing this??? if im in second it does it right around 6000 rpm, when it should clearly be going to its 6800 redline. its either cutting out, somethings limiting it, or its clicking back into short runners... please help! |
