Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default 97 Contour Bank 1 O2 Sensor

Hello, I have a 97 Contour (4 cylnider). Recently the check engine light went on. I went to Checker and they ran a diagnosis on it. It says Bank 1 O2 Sensor.
The guy said my car has 2 different O2 sensors, but believes bank 1 is the one you can see right on the engine looking down in plain view.
I am not a car buff, but knew what he was talking about. I don't know the lingo of what part is what, but he said it's as easy as changing a spark plug. Anyway, he couldn't guarentee that Bank 1 was the one in plain view. He said they sell 2 different O2 sensors for that car and I need to find out which I need.
So my questions is: Which is Bank 1?
Of course this happens when my emmisions testing is due this month.
Thank you in advance...
