Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default Zetec 96 don't start

I change the motor in a ford contour 96 4 cylinder manual with a motor from a contour 96 automatic.

I put the flywheel and my clutch and I change the part to position the crankshat sensor in the same position with my manual tranny.

I put the motor in the car and now the car doesn't start at all, it crank well and it's near to start when I hold the gas pedal to the floor but it doesn't start at all. It's start sometimes when I remove the fuel fuse pump. The timing is correct but the replacement motor had a broken tensionner and the valves are fine. I replaced the tensionner the belt and all the pulleys. I checked the compression and I swap the fuel rail, the throttle body and
the coil pack with same result.

It seems to have too much fuel or not enough air.I have good sparks at plugs.
Do you have any idea what cause the problem because all part on the car work fine before the head gasket blown on the old motor.

The fuel is 2 months old.

Thanks for your help

Mike
