Ford ContourFord Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.
got a 98 svt that the short block is destroyed in. though the top end is fine, i was wandering how much the car is worth. it is build number 4810. the body is in excellent condition.
Rough trade in is worth just $1075 and that is with a running engine. Vehicle is worth around $3500 in excellent condition that is perfectly running. My guess is between $500 and $1000 depending on the buyer. You also never stated the miles on the car, that determines the over all price of the vehicle.
Even thought the bottom end is bad the top end will have to be rebuilt too. Would you rebuild the bottom end and throw a use top end on a fresh engine?

i know very well that the top end would have to be rebuilt. as far as that goes if i could afford it i would just get a good 3.0 and drop it in myself and call it a day. the body is in excellent condition, as i said b4 the interior is in awesome shape, not a scratch or scrape anywhere. thats why i was asking, i have no idea what the market value for these little toys is, considering its the first year that these cars were offered as a svt.
I heard the block is a stock Ford 3.0 nothing special about it, just the top half was different. If this is true it should be a cheap fix if you can DIY.
