Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default Fan blower not working on 99 contour

My fan was only working on high, then it quit all together. I replaced the resistor and it worked for about 20 seconds and hasnt come on again. I used a meter and it says I am getting 12 volts to the fan. I even ran jumper wires to the fan and it came on that way. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

So if your getting 12volts to the fan, what else do we need....ground right?
The blower gets grounded from the blower speed switch in the dash, through the resistor. So follow the ground side of the blower circuit, and answer these questions: Does my blower switch provide switched ground to the resistor? Is my resistor in turn grounding my blower. I hope this is helpful.

Almost the same problem here: my fan only runs on high. I've read over at The Contour Enthusiasts Group : CEG that it is because the fan relay has gone bad. Easy replacement it seems: How to: Blower Motor Resistor Replacement (Fan only works on high!) - CEG Forums

I'm going to try this solution first, then will continue following your thread here with interest for an alternate possible solution.

Great post! Hopefully we can find a solution together.
