Ford ContourFord Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.
Just got a 96 Contour 5 speed with a small trans prob and I kinda knew what I was going to do as far as the shifting prob went. Well, got it home (drives good and shifts ok) to bleed the clutch. After getting that done it improved a little but it is still have a slight prob.
It will shift but it feels like something is in the way when you are trying to find a gear (no grind).....now when the engine is not running you can run through all the gears with no problems. Start the car and it seems to have a problem getting into the gear and reverse. Once you get it in gear it will stay there with out creeping and the clutch does not slip at all under any load. Once you get going you can shift with no problems and drive it all day...just if you have to go to reverse or first from a stop with the engine running it is hard almost every time.
