Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default My Check Engine light came on

What all could it mean?

It has been hesitating a little bit sometimes. Other than that, there are no other symptoms.

I had my light come on and didn't bother with it for a couple weeks. One day on my way to work a deer jumped out in front of me. As I swerved to miss the deer, the car shut off as soon as I applied brakes abruptly. After that I took the car to a shop. The air intake sensor had gone out and was not regulating air flow. Part was replaced and I have not had any problems since. Car has 105,000 miles now.

Default light

You may have caused the light to go on because you didn't get the gas cap on correctly. That's what happened to me. You can unhook the battery to reset the light. If it comes back on after you fix the gas cap, it's probably the oxygen sensors. My light has been on for months, but goes off once in a while. I don't think it's usually a big issue.
