Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Exclamation Could this be ignition module? HELP!

Our 99 contour had been running fine up until a few days ago. It began to spit and sputter when it got cold here. We assumed that we got a bad batch of gas and there was ice in the lines. We poured some gas treatment into the tank and got it running only for it to die a few minutes later. Since then it only idles for 10-30 seconds and then dies. It will die if we push the gas at all. We had a friend who suggested it was the ignition module...could it be the fuel filter, pump...? Any other suggestions. We just had it in the shop for minor repairs two weeks ago and the oil was changed about 1000 miles ago....I have no idea what this is...

the way you have explaned it, i do not think its spark but fuel or the throttle postion switch, if its fuel change the filter (cheap fix) also get a pressure test done on it
