Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default Posessed demon car

98 Ford contour 2.5L 6cyl When it runs it runs perfectly. Problem is that it runs only intermittantly. The car will run just fine then after it is turned off it will not start again. The engine turns but will not fire, there is no spark at the plugs when it is doing this and I think probably no gas either since when I pull the plugs they are not wet. I changed the plugs , plug wires and ignition coil. Still no luck. After the car sits for anywhere from 1 hour to 3 days it will start and run just fine for days sometimes months and then it will act up again. There is no common factor such as temp or rain. It can happen in dead of winter or middle of summer on a dry day. Every time I decide to take it to a mechanic it starts up just fine. Its posessed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like a bad ground somewhere. Check the ground nearest the fuse box under the hood. Should be near the air cleaner. Bad battery cables or a bad mega fuse (along the fire wall) may also be the problem.

Search around in the troubleshooting section here:
