Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Default 97 Contour - Brake Pedal to the floor

My husband's contour suddenly lost the brakes. One morning he left for work and went to stop and the pedal went all the way to the floor with no braking action. No indication that brakes were wearing. He filled the brake reservoir with fluid, and is still full. Is it possibly a sensor or a seal failing, not allowing the fluid to flow properly?

was the resevoir empty when he put brake fluid in, if so you have the bleed the brakes also does it have abs then you will have to bleed it too. Also if it was empty there has to be a leak, look for oil also look around the the master cylinder. If the resevoir was not empty i would think its the master cylinder
