Ford ContourFord Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. I was driving home from school the yesterday and i was doing about 70. Everything seemed fine and then i look down at my speedometer and it dropped from 70 to 0 and stuck at 0. I also smelled burning rubber but idk if it was coming from my car or a surrounding car. i figured i would pull my car to the side and give it a rest for a minute see maybe if it would self fix with some rest. anyway i start back up and i start to accelerate and i couldn't get it to shift to 2nd gear. (minding i have a AT) I tried turning OD off and then back on to maybe try and kcik it but nothing. Finally it did jump into second but i could not get it to go into 3rd or 4th. so i drove the rest of the way home in 1st and 2nd gears. I also did notice my odometer stopped working. the trip meter didn't work either. all other gauges worked. And finally when it would switch between 1st and 2nd gears the car would violently shift causing a harsh jolt. Any idea what it could be?? Thanks!
