| Hey starjammir!
I've done 2.5L to 2.5L SVT swaps on two cars and it has worked out well for me. The only reason I went with the 2.5 again was because I already had the complete SVT motor in my garage. Otherwise 3L is the way to go and I'll be doing that on my next swap.

| I have a 2000 ford contour. Well I was originally just do an engine swap for the same size engine. Well I looked through the above messages. That 3.0l that you guys are talking about my wife had one in her 98 taurus. What Im wondering is, will that motor bolt up to my tranny and be okay. I don't know what all it will be compatible with. Also in theory a bigger motor pushing the smaller car should mean my gas mileage might improve some right? Proably wrong about that but I am wondering. My wife got really good mileage out of her taurus and thought, hey, I could possibly get better. Also, does anyone know if the 3L will slide right in to stock mounts? Any info on this swap will be very helpful. Thanks, Kevin |
