Ford ContourFord Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.
I was recently driving then my Contour started missing then was hard to start after that. I changed the IAC and cleaned the MAF then after disconnecting the battery for half an hour it ran fine after settling in. The check engine light was on and my mechanic said to change my oxygen sensors which I did all 3 this morning. After replacing these and reconnecting the battery it started right away, then started missing then finally stalled and won't even fire anymore. I know the computer needs to adjust, but could it have been so out of adjustment that it won't keep running? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you
I replaced the coil after reconnecting the battery and the darn thing started. I was about to replace the wiring harness as they are known on this model to crack and short out but I couldn't get the whole thing off at the junk yard. You start at the ecu plug then the darned harness goes on and on to all these different junctions which I managed to get to only about half so I just let it be for the day. Anyway, I let the car run for about half an hour and it turned dark so I shut it off. Hope it keeps running.
