Ford Contour Ford Contour combines sporty driving dynamics with the comfort and practicality of a four-door sedan. It doesn't have the rear-seat space of a Taurus, but Ford improved rear legroom and revised the styling. Contour SVT pours on the coal with a higher output version of the Duratec V6, a sports suspension and bigger brakes.

Unhappy problems found during oil change

I just recently had my oil changed in my 2000 ford contour. I was told that I have a transmission leak as well as an oil pan leak and an oil seal issue and a broken dipstick. Will replacing the transmission fluid provide a temporary fix? Can I purchase a new dipstick and roughly, how much will all of this stuff cost?

Replacing the transmission fluid will not help the leak unless stop leak is used. If the shop that changed the transmission fluid used a cork filter it will blow out the gasket. I would reccomend using Lucas's Trans Fix. It will not help with major leaks which should be attended to ASAP!

You may be able to purchase a new dipstick from your Ford dealer or a used one from a local salvage yard.
