Ford CourierFrom 1952 to 1958 the Ford Courier was marketed as a "sedan delivery" designated body code 78A, and was based on the contemporary sedan and station wagon designs. During the 1957 and 1958 model year, a windowed variant of the Courier was marketed for fleet orders and a number were produced primarily for Government services.
I recently had my 1978 Ford Courier stolen. As a result the person that stole the vehicle ripped out the wires that connect the ignition switch so they could hot wire the vehicle. The ignition switch is fine but I am not sure how to correctly reconnect the three wires that were ripped out. The solution I was told is to get a pigtail that will align the wires correctly. I have looked everywhere for a pigtail but can not find one for my 78 Courier. I have also checked Mitchell's Automotive Manual and Chiltons for the wiring but neither manual was of any use. Can anyone tell me the appropriate way to reconnect the wires so I can start my truck again? Or if anyone knows where I can purchase a pigtail to reconnect the wires?
I would try to randomly connect the wires to the ignition switch but since the vehicle won't start when I hold the three wires together (it cranks but doesn't start, must be something else wrong in the engine that I will have to fix once I get the ignition switch fixed) I won't be certain I have all the wires connected properly. Therefore I need to be certain I have the wires connected properly.
