Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Unhappy 1993 CROWN VIC Power Window Motor & Regulator

Hi everyone. My mom has a 1993 Crown Vic she recently acquired and none of the power windows are operable. Since I had replaced the driver's side power window motor and regulator before (in a different car) went to Ford Dealership with intention of buying both parts. When I talked to parts guy on the phone he had told me if it turned out one part was unecessary, I could return it, this I found out upon arriving that, the regulator, if not needed was returnable, but the power motor, being electrical was not. So, they suggesteed, since I told them that I could hear the motor on the driver's side, but the window would not go up and down, (although it will if pushed with button pushed at same time) that it was probably the regulator, start there first. Which I did, while door panel was off inspected regulator, seemed fine, must be motor, I thought. took back regulator and got motor instead. Then I found this site and read that the spool which is on the regulator could be stripped and that in order to remove the motor, rivets have to be ground out! Don't think I'm willing to go that far. So now, since I have the motor that I guess can't be returned, I'm finding a place to replace the motor, should I go back to dealer and get regulator in case it is bad? Thanks for any help and for the guy who posted the directions on how to replace regulator!
