Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Default 2000 Crown Vic P71 Engine Swap

Thinking about purchasing a 00 Crown vic this weekend - may need new engine - but the body is in great condition - and so is the interior.

Guy wants $500 for it all - so I'm thinking about buying it and swapping the engine.

I may just rebuild it, but I need to knwo what engines I can put in it.

Of course I can get another 4.6 to throw in there, but what would I need to put a 302 or something in there?

First of all it would not be legal for the street because of EPA and it would be an expensive/ time consuming wiring night mare. Bye any 2001 4.6 and up PI ( performance Improved ) engine and bolt it in. Make sure you use your P71 trans flex plate because its different then stock .
