Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Question 96 LX Rear Air Springs, switching to Rear Coil Springs??

I have a 96 LX, with an air suspension light on and replaced one of the airbags, thinking that may be it. its not the airbag(s) however. when i installed them, i reset the computer and put a new fuse for the air compressor. it compressed, the car leveled up, then when i had a neice sit in the back seat for about 15 min, the air compressor didn't compress and the light came on and kept sagging. the ON button was switched in the trunk, but even with it on, it wont compress! i checked all air lines, everything is fine, but wont compress until i reset the battery and lift the rear on jacks.

with that i'm getting rear coil springs. any suggestions on which are the best, where to buy and if i need JUST the coils or the little round spring insulator washer things that go between the coils and the rear of the car?

i dont know if i can sell on this forum, but once i do swap it. a pretty much brand new black SUNCORE Industries Air spring with solenoid valve and everything, on original Firestone OEM air spring (complete as well), the air spring on/off trunk switch, and air compressor w/drier and everything (it does compress, but doesn't do it when needed) will be for sale as well.

after i get the coils, of course. any suggestions on where i can get some, besides ebay? and when i'm swaping it out, do i need a coil compressor to get them in? what should I look out for when swapping?

thanks

-dave
