Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Default 1999 crown vic will start but does not stay running?

I would appreciate it if anybody has any advice or tips on what the problem could be with my car. The only way the car will stay running is if I keep my foot on the accelerator.

Mine was doing the same thing untill i replaced the Idle Air Control Motor, now it runs just fine. It will hesitate first on startup after you install the new part, and it will run a little ruff but after 5mins it will be fine. The Idle Air Control Motor is located on the back of the throttle body, it has one wire connected to it and a hose, and two 8mm bolts holding it on. I got mine threw Motorcraft and it cost about $88 with the gasket, and the part number is

VALVE
that is how it looks on the sticker that is on the bottom of the box.

Did the IAC valve fix it? That would have been the first thing I would suggest.

The Same Thing Happened 2 My '92 Cr Vic Lx It Was The Throttle Body Position Sensor. Not Saying It's Not The Iac. Just Thought I Might Mentionthat. I'm Gonna Check My Iac Also. I Repalced The Maf Sensor Too.
