Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Default to bleed the brake lines

I am trying to bleed the rear brake line on my 1996 crown vic. I've been doing a traditional bleed. How I've done all my other cars for past 30 yrs but it does not seem to work. I was talking to some friends who told me there is a saftey valve that engages in case of a leak that would prevent me from losing both front and back brakes. by doing it how i was they said i engaged this valve? If this is so, how do i go about bleeding the rear line? I had to replace a section of the rear brake line and now I can't bleed them properly? Any ideas or suggestions?

Best to use a power bleeder. Check out the Motive model 0107 for Ford with the three-tab cap for the master cylinder. Pump it up to 10-12 lbs and you're good to go. I just did my '93 and it was a snap.
