Ford Crown Victoria Though they were what most people drove in the 1950s and 1960s, full-size cars like the Ford Crown Victoria are now an anomaly. But Ford's biggest sedan still offers significant virtues, including affordable V8 performance and room for six people. Today, the Crown Victoria's passenger and cargo volumes compare favorably against fashionable SUVs.

Lightbulb New to site police crown vic mod ?'s

New to the site and I have a few questions about a project I have in mind. I have always wanted a used police car since I saw the blues brothers movie with the 1978 dodge monic in it. What I would like to do is get a either 03 or 04 police package crown vic with the police paint, pushbar, etc. and take the necessary parts out (engine, transmision, etc.) and replace them with mercury maurader parts wich would have 300hp instead of the police crown vic's 250hp. another reason i want to do that is i have seen superchargers for mercury mauraders but not crown vics or marquis.

So my questions are:
1. Is any of what i just said possible or plausable,
2. what parts would i need to replace with maurader parts to get the 300hp and the possiblty of adding a supercharger.
3. Even with maruarder parts could i put a maurader supercharger on it or is it really car specific.
4. How much is all that going to run me (if possible) minus the cost of the car.

If the engine is a 4.6 it is possible the Mustang 4.6 Supercharger will work on it.

The Crownvic.net site has a lot of information on the type of upgrade you are asking about. Also there are lots of very knowledgeable people there that can provide specific help.
Crownvic.net: Viewing the portal page

The guru there (dRock) has a website with lots of tuning help:
Liquid's 1999 Crown Vic Victoria LX HPP

Hope this helps.

Default yes you can

everything you have said is possible with enough money, a factory supercharger off a cobra will fit on any late model 4.6L 4 valve engine with the same head design, marauder, mach 1 ect... but these enines were intended to be n/a and have higher compression and cast carnks, a s/c cobra engine has forged internals and lower compression to accomidate boost, this being said, plenty of people run superchargers on the cast crank engines and seem to have minimal problems, but i suspect that they are running hot and possibly not making the real power potential of a 4 valve due to the restrictions of adibatic efficency, this is the ratio of heat made by boost to actual power produced, as you may know heat in is bad, at 10 to 1 compression, no more than 10psi should be run, on 100 octane or less, or an engine can potentially make the same or even less than it did n/a, cobras are around 8 or 8.5 to 1 and run 8psi from the factory, a smaller pulley can produce up to 16psi on a factory blower

Keep in mind when thinking supercharger that the P71 crown vic has a 2 valve 4.6 not the 4 valve the Marauder has. You can do it fairly easy if you get the ecm from the marauder. You will also need most of the wiring as well. You would be better off and actually cheaper and less work to buy a marauder and repaint it and put the push bumper on it along with all the other police equipment. One word of warning. Crownvic.net members frown heavily on adding police equipment to your car. It has been seen time and time again with our members that when you do all this it attracts the wrong kind of attn from the police. They will be more inclined to find a reason to pull you over with all the equipment as this is exactly what most of the impersonators do to their cars. Several crownvic.net members have managed to add quite allot of performance equipment to the 2 valve modulars.
